Methodical mayhem,
analog soul.
A boutique beat machine with deep step sequencing, 32 instruments and 40 bespoke effects.

Step sequencing with hardware in its bones.
Open any track and out pour the lanes, velocity and notes and accents and ratchets and odds and conditions and Euclid, and then, since one perfectly good knob move is never enough, you draw the filter, the delay send and any other knob you can lock as curves that swoop and climb across the bar, step after step, until the pattern sounds like it was played by someone with far more patience than you.
Parameter locks
Lock any knob to any step: a new sound on a single hit, no extra track. Arm REC and turn a knob to write the move in.
Trig conditions
FIRST, PREV, NEXT and ratios such as 3:4 decide which passes a step plays on, so one bar writes its own fills.
Ratchets
Split a step into up to four hits for rolls and stutters.
Probability
Give any step odds, so the loop never plays the same way twice.
Euclidean
Spread hits evenly around the bar and fall into rhythms you'd never program by hand.
Automation curves
Any lock lane becomes a curve. Draw it with shape tools, or record a knob move at full resolution.
Polymeter
Give every track its own length, up to 64 steps, and let the patterns drift in and out of phase.
Poly-tempo
Run each track at its own rate, from an eighth of the tempo to eight times it.

A console built to do the work.

Open sesame.
Channels expand right where they sit, so the workflow stays fluid. Open one and its EQ draws over the live spectrum, with a scope and a stereo picture.
Five inserts
On every channel, return and MAIN. Any effect fits any slot, and its knobs lock per step like any other.
Mid / side EQ
A three-band EQ on every strip, each band on stereo, mid or side.
Width
Squeeze any channel or return down to mono, or spread it out to 200%.
Cross-fed returns
Reverb, delay and a wildcard, each one able to feed the others into gloriously questionable places.
Main
Glue compression and a soft clipper at the end of the chain.
Play it in, chords and all.
A whole chord under one finger, recorded as a single step.
Pads
Sixteen pads. One row fires your tracks, the other holds any note on any instrument. On a KIT they become its sixteen drums.
X/Y macro
Point it at any knobs, then move them all with one drag.
32 instruments.
Circuit-modeled drum machines and modal drums, a granular sampler, wavetable, FM and phase distortion, physical models you hit, bow and blow, two electric pianos and a drawbar organ. LABS is where the strange ones live.

Take a closer look.
morph
The wavetable synth. Two oscillators scan eight-frame tables over a sub and noise, into a filter and envelopes. Unison and glide, and a MOD picker per oscillator for folding and sync.

pair
Two analog drum channels in one track, both fired by every hit. Each has a wave, a pitch sweep, a filter, a decay and one modulator, and LINK feeds one channel's output into the other's pitch.

chant
A singing voice made of formant grains: one grain per formant per cycle of the note, from the classic singer tables. A mouth pad moves the vowel across the first two formants.

facet
A struck body: bar, bell, gong, plate or membrane, modeled as its modes. Hit it, bow it or scrape it, and COUPLE lets a hard hit bend and bloom.

phase dist
Phase distortion. A cosine is read through a bent phase, and the bend, not a filter, is the timbre. The DCW envelope moves it, with key follow.

terrain
Wave terrain. A surface is read along an orbit that the note spins. Six surfaces with their own detail, an orbit you shape, and an edge rule for where the orbit leaves the square.

sid
A model of the 6581 and 8580 sound chips. Three oscillators in poly, fat, ring or sync mode share one resonant filter. Pick the chip and its variance.

squelch
A circuit model of the classic acid bass machine, its filter simulated part by part. Its oscillator and envelopes come from measurements of the full circuit.

scanned
Scanned synthesis. A ring of spring-linked weights is poked by each note and a read head laps it at the pitch. Draw the read path, and MORPH picks the ring's rest shape from a wavetable.

reed ep
The reed electric piano. A modeled hammer strikes a reed, the pickup shapes the tone, and each key has its own voicing.

tine ep
The tine electric piano. A modeled hammer strikes a tine, the pickup's position sets the bark, and each key has its own voicing.

tonewheel
The drawbar organ. Nine drawbars set the mix of harmonics, a percussion register adds the attack, and the scanner gives vibrato and chorus.

noise
Ten kinds of noise from one voice: colour, notes cut out or sieved in, a walk across a terrain, a formula, velvet, logic, a counter, tape and weather. Then a filter with a vowel mode, two resonant peaks and a slow random wander.

wind
A wind instrument model: clarinet, saxophone, flute or brass, blown through a tube. Each note blows its own breath, and notes marked SLIDE slur into the next.
40 bespoke effects.
Hysteresis tape and iron transformers, a bucket-brigade delay, a rotary speaker with Doppler, fifty recorded spaces and NAM A2 modeling. A boutique rack, top to bottom.

Drop in a loop, or record a bar.
Sound can come from anywhere.
Plug in a mic, a synth or a turntable and record straight into a track, up to five minutes a take. Or bring your own samples: they wait in the browser beside the bundled kits, a click away.

Get a pattern back.
Drop in a break, let SENS find every hit, press SEND TO PATTERN and watch the loop lay itself out across the steps, one slice per hit, nudged to where it really landed, ready to chop, shuffle and flip until the original drummer wouldn't recognize it.
Slices
Cut a sample into equal parts with COUNT, or at every hit with SENS. Each marker lands just before its hit.
Tempo + bars
SLICES finds the loop’s tempo and shows it as BARS and BPM. Hear it another way? Set either by hand.
Slice rows
Open a sliced track into one row per slice and see the break laid out, hit by hit.
Fade
Set how fast a slice fades into the gap when the song runs slower than the loop. The wave draws each fade as you turn.
Keep length
Pitch a slice up or down and keep its length. Switch to TAPE and pitch and speed move together.
Round robin
Load a few takes of a hit and they trade off at random, never the same one twice in a row, so a roll stops sounding like a machine gun. HUMANIZE nudges each hit’s pitch and filter.

Built to be pushed.
7 kinds of modulator for any track, return or MAIN. Jump between a modulator and what it moves.
Stack envelopes, LFOs and random walks, point them at any knob, and the sound keeps moving long after you've stopped touching anything.

Make anything move. In one click.
Right-click any knob and pick a modulator. Stack as many as you like, each at its own depth, scaled by how hard you play. + NEW makes a fresh one, already wired in.
Complex LFO
Three sines combined into one moving shape.
Envelope x LFO
An LFO with an envelope’s shape.
Keyboard
Velocity, the mod wheel and aftertouch, through a curve you draw.
Follower
One track’s loudness, through a curve, driving the knobs you route it to.

Take it apart. Take it anywhere.
Bounce sample-aligned stems straight out of the session.
Pick the stems
Tracks, returns and the full mix. Bounce everything or just what the session needs.
Adds up
Printed pre-master, before MAIN’s EQ, compressor and clipper. The mix and the master stay yours.
